“California Coaster (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk)” oil on canvas, 21 x 40”. I love to feature historic things in my paintings, both because they’re beautiful and to advocate for their preservation. GD was the first coaster for my brother and I as kids, and I was forever hooked! To keep it running and looking fantastic for a century is a mind-blowing feat for designers and manufacturers Church and Looff, as well as all faithful stewards since. The amount of joy it brings to me and everyone else is immeasurable. Happy 100th birthday!
