This photo was taken on the day of the 100th year celebration of the Giant Dipper at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. As we walked around enjoying the celebrations I snapped some photos to capture the moment of the Giant Dipper turning 100 years old. My Grandma Grassi was here when the Giant Dipper was built, she was only 3 years old at that time. Being there for the 100th anniversary brought me back to a time I can only dream about. My grandma running around as a 3 year old, playing with Kewpie dolls and eating sno-ko’s at the old refreshment stand they used to call the dodge em stand that stood out front of the Giant Dipper back then. 100 years have passed and new generations are here to enjoy the joys that were left behind for upcoming generations to come.
